Mid-Rivers offers low-income phone and Internet assistance to qualifying subscribers. Lifeline provides Federal Universal Service support to reduce monthly charges for telephone and/or qualifying Internet service paid by eligible low-income residential customers. These assistance services are non-transferable and allow for only one discount to be applied to a qualifying household. Eligibility standards for Lifeline assistance are determined by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Customers must qualify through National Verifier to become eligible to receive the Lifeline discounts. Customers can qualify in any of our Business Offices through our service provider portal, at home through your own portal, or by mailing in this application https://www.usac.org/_res/documents/li/pdf/nv/LI_Application_NVstates.pdf to USAC. All lifeline customers must re-certify every year before the anniversary date of their enrollment. Customers will be contacted prior to their recertification date with a reminder.
The Mid-Rivers Lifeline Voice plan provides voice-grade access to the public switched telephone network, local usage, touch tone, single-party service, access to emergency services, access to operator services, access to interexchange service, access to directory assistance, primary published directory listing, and toll limitation (toll blocking) at the eligible consumer’s principal place of residence. The Mid-Rivers Lifeline Voice plan provides unlimited local calling. Long distance (toll) calling is not included in the Lifeline plan but is available starting at $0.20 per minute ($0.10 per minute on Sundays and Holidays) or $24.99 per month for 200 minutes. Lifeline subscribers may also choose from any other available long distance service providers. The monthly rate for this service varies depending on the customer’s location. The rate is based on the standard monthly residential local service charge in the customer’s exchange (including applicable Mandatory EAS charges) less the $9.25 per month discount for eligible Lifeline subscribers. Additional discounts are available to qualifying individuals residing on Tribal Lands under the Enhanced Lifeline program. Enhanced Lifeline support currently offers additional Lifeline support of up to $25.00 per month. The lowest generally available residential rate is $0.00 for Enhanced Lifeline service to qualifying low-income consumers.
Mid-Rivers offers a Lifeline discount of $9.25 per month on qualifying Internet plans or service bundles that include qualifying Internet plans. In the East Fairview (ND), Fairview, Glendive, Lewistown, Miles City, and Sidney exchanges, and to any new Internet customers in any other exchange where Fiber to the Premise (FTTP) facilities are available, our Wide Open Internet plan is offered to Lifeline subscribers. Wide Open provides the fastest speed possible at the customer’s location for $19.95 per month plus $0.20/GB of monthly data usage. In all other Mid-Rivers areas, Lifeline subscribers are offered our 20M/2M Lifeline plan for $19.95 per month with 1000GB of monthly usage. Usage over 1000GB per month is $10 per 50GB with a minimum $10 charge. In areas of these exchanges where 18M/2M speeds are not currently available over existing facilities, the highest performing service (4M/1M or higher) will be provided at the same rates as the 20M/2M Lifeline plan. The customer’s location must be capable of at least 4M/1M speeds to be eligible for Lifeline. All deposits and any applicable Internet equipment fees will be waived for eligible Lifeline customers. Mid-Rivers also offers our qualifying voice and Internet bundles to Lifeline customers, where the customer’s facilities are capable of a qualifying Internet plan (4M/1M or higher).
