In 1952, Mid-Rivers Telephone Cooperative, Inc. began providing phone service for the residents of Eastern Montana. The logo was designed to reflect our dedication to providing members with reliable phone service, depicting a classic push-button telephone. The letters MRTC replaced the telephone number pad, representing Mid-Rivers’ role in connecting people through our service.
The logo was significantly modernized in 2001. Mid-Rivers Telephone Cooperative, Inc. became Mid-Rivers Communications, indicating the increasing number of services, like Internet and business services, that we offer in addition to phone service. The new design featured this change, as well as a new icon: a blue circle with two white lines flowing through it. The icon’s simplicity speaks to Mid-Rivers’ simple goal of providing the best possible service for our members. The circle represents the unity of the Mid-Rivers community and the completeness of our offered services, while the white lines signify the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers that define Mid-Rivers in both name and service area.
This 2001 logo was updated in January 2018, showcasing Mid-Rivers’ commitment to modernization as a front-runner in the ever-progressing telecommunications industry. The design was very reminiscent of its predecessor to show that our values and dedication to our customers are the same as they’ve always been. The circle moved to the front of the logo, displaying the importance of what it represents. The text font is more stylized and slants at a sharper angle, indicating our focus on moving towards the future.
We recently refined the 2018 logo even further. The circle is still at the front, but the white lines are now more prominent to better express Mid-Rivers' connection to its roots in the area. The current text font is script, evoking the sense of a flowing river and depicting the more personal touch the company uses in caring for customers. Additionally, the line separating “Mid-Rivers” and “Communications” in both the 2001 and 2018 logos was removed, emphasizing that there is no separation between the company and people it serves.
Both Mid-Rivers and its logo have evolved over the last 67 years, but one thing that will never change is the pride we take in providing our customers with first-rate service and customer care.
