Nominating Shows

    On this page you will find the shows that have been approved by the SAC Program for the current show year as well as the process to get a show nominated to the program.  The shows are listed by state. Click on the state and then click on the links for further show information.

    This section of the site is always updated as we get information and nominations made available to us. If there is a show that you feel should meet the requirements as listed in the SAC Program guide lines please submit a nomination form or formal request to the SAC Secretary.

Show Requirements:

        Many local saddle clubs and fairs offer opportunities to show but are not recognized by the ASHA as a sanctioned show. This is now possible since ASHA has committed to recognize points earned by Shire horses at events approved through the SAC Program. You may gain points for your placings by nominating these shows that fit the SAC prerequisites.

1) Submit Class lists for all shows- Classes not submitted in application will not be considered for points.

2) SAC approved clubs and organizations must keep accurate records of placings and entries for one year.  These records must be available for audit at the request of ASHA.

3) Club/ Organization is governed by a BOD or similar governing body.

1)      4) Show nominations must be filled out and sent to the SAC Secretary 30 days prior to the show for approval.

         5)  SAC approval for the local event expires December 31^st of each year. You must re-nominate each organization and their shows every year.

3)     This information, with the nomination application, will be used for the approval process for the event. Applications can be found on the Forms portion of the web site.

        SAC also recognizes each year State Sanctioned Fairs, Corporate Shows and Stock Shows, like Denver Stock Show or Calgary Stampede. When you enter one of these shows:

1)      Send a copy of your entry forms, and a class list, 30 days prior to the show.

2)      For multiple hitch classes submit the hitch declaration form that lists the horses that will be shown in each hitch class with paperwork listed above.

3)      When you get to the show fill out the SAC forms as needed.

4)       Have the show secretary sign the SAC form for your placings. 

5)      When you send these into the SAC Secretary, send the link to download the official results or have the show secretary mail official results to cross reference with the SAC forms.

   **  Below is the working list of approved SAC shows that do not require nomination (these shows must meet all SAC requirements as listed above, have draft horse shows in the premium list, and may hold ASHA Sanctioned classes or shows as part of their premium list.) ASHA sponsored classes as part of a recognized National or Regional will not count for points. Non ASHA sponsored classes at the National and Regional shows may be turned in for points.  All performance and halter to count for points that fit into the class categories as listed in the program.
