Horse Camps
Introduction to the Horse
For children 8-80
So You Want To Own A Horse!
$225.00 for 12 hours
Hands on experience, each participant
will be assigned their own horse. Sessions consist of 3, 4-hour classes. Participants
will learn safety, catching, haltering, grooming; including foot care, how to tack
up their horse, mounting and basic riding instruction. The final session they
will catch, groom and ready their horse for a one hour pasture ride. They will
also be taught costs involved in owning a horse including feed and veterinary
care and responsible horse ownership. Emphasis throughout the week will be on
safety for both the horse and the participant and responsible horse ownership.
Private lessons available - $35 per hour
You will need to wear jeans and boots with heels.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the first day to sign a
participation waiver. Riding or bicycle helmet REQUIRED of all under age
participants, they are strongly recommended for those over 18. Sunscreen, bug repellant,
bottled water and snack are also recommended.
There will be a short break at mid class.
