Regularly scheduled meetings of the Carter County Weed Board are held on the first Monday of the month at the Weed Shop in Ekalaka. Meeting times are 4 PM.

Currently, there are 3 different areas in the county that have been addressed by grants through the Montana Noxious Weed Trust Fund.  The North Carter County area which includes roughly the area from Ekalaka to Mill Iron is utilizing a grant to spray leafy spurge and houndstongue. The Capitol Area received a grant to spray leafy spurge in that area. Ridge area producers received a grant to spray leafy spurge, spotted knapweed, and houndstongue. Through the grants, producers in these areas receive a 50% cost share on chemical to treat their noxious weeds.
