Eastern Plains Regional Endowment Fund

HISTORY

The Eastern Plains Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc. was established in 1992 as a forum for exchanging ideas, developing projects and assisting in the enhancement of our rural economy.
The Eastern Plains Regional Endowment was created as an affiliate of the Montana Community Foundation in 1994. The concept of the endowment emerged to offset the effect of increased competition for private, state and federal funding.
The purpose of the Endowment is to provide a perpetuating source of funding to meet the existing and future needs of the area’s residents.

HOW IT WORKS

The ENDOWMENT is administered by a local advisory board. This boards primary function is to secure and administer endowments or other gifts made to improve the quality of life for our regional residents. Decisions on financial grants and awards are made on a local level, utilizing this local board. Donors should be advised that their charitable objectives will be honored.
As a local affiliate of the MCF, our endowment becomes part of an $8 million pool of funds. This investment allows the maximum investment potential for our fund, plus the benefit of professional fiscal management.

The RC&D is organized as a 501(c)3 nonprofit making contributions to this endowment tax deductible.
