TerryYippee Days

TerryYippee Days are held in Terry, Mt the last Saturday in July and are sponsored by the Prairie County Chamber of Commerce as local appreciation days. Events include a 5K, 10K and kids 1 mile walk/run/skip. A free pancake breakfast (sponsored by State Bank of Terry) follows the run(s). Adult and youth games are held in the park and pool after the run, and a chili cook-off is held near noon. A Prairie Action League sponsored demolition derby is held in the afternoon with chamber sponsored free meal in the park at 5:00. A street dance follows in the evening till 1:30 a.m.

ya need 1 of them big blak kettles (werks best ifn u cleen the kettle from the last cookin a4 u start) maws a lil lazee so she just thros in them tins a beans ya need sum a that tomater stuff and water--creek waters best as long as it taint yella
throw in sum wild onyuns--cut the ends off n spit the dirt off whatever critter u shot in the last 3 dayz cut up in small chunks (ifn its a rabit ull need bout dozen-dont forget to get rida any xtra fur) dont forget maws fire in the hole saus
thro all this in the kettle over a fire and ifn it smells like itsa burnin stir it up
ifn the burnin smell wont go away your chiliis redy
