I danced with the Devil,...
I spoke to God on high,
I remember this journey,
and smile with a tear in
my eye!
Longhorns driven to Montana
land,
Far from the Texas mesquite
and sand.
We touched the hearts of
many,
But with damn good memories
aplenty.
Cowboys all good with hearts
so true.
They wrote new history jis
for you.

We left Texas on a wing
and a prayer
But, it's a wave of public
support that'll git us thar!
The departin' days were
awfully wet and cold,
Cowboys came from six different
states, with hearts o'bold.
Now, we'll make this trip
for all America and jis for you.
It's a tribute to the boys
who rode before.
Some lost their lives...
their loves... and more.
Each had an adventure...
he'd never forget
But if you ever drove cattle,
you'll never regret
The endless days of constant
saddle time.
Hell it'll leave ya with
warm memories that are awfully fine.
Facing death each step of
the ride,
Our cowboys spirit... we
won't hide.
Spurs will jingle, hats
and face will age,
But somehow, somewhere...
our deed, our names
Will make a history page!
