Cowboys with various backgrounds came from six different states to Fort Worth, Texas in the spring of 1995.

They all dedicated themselves to recreating one of the most glorious and memorable events in American History ... the cattle drive of longhorns to Montana in 1886. None of them had even the slightest idea of what they were about to endure. They were confronted with the worst weather in more than fifty years along with stampedes, runaway wagons, speeding traffic, horse falls, and total exhaustion intertwined with some of the most intense emotions known to the human spirit.

Their obstacles were very different from those faced by the young cowboys of the 1880's, yet our challenges were just as great! Along the way, they all rode into a time warp and "reenactment became reality." Each one was transformed into trail drovers and as all men during severe adversity throughout mankind ... personalities, egos, passions, trust, distrust, loyalties and beliefs were intensified like good steel in a blacksmiths' forge. But without the participation and support of the visitors and guests of all ages that came to camp to catch a glimpse of history, they would have never made it to Montana.

Thousands of lives were touched or changed along the way ... but nothing can compare to the changes of hearts and souls of each cowboy or cowgirl who lived this saga.

Of all the persons that participated in the drive, there are none with regrets.
