Dyke's Alaskan Fishing Trip - July 2002
Dyke was lucky enough to go to Soldona, Alaska July 13-21 , 2002, for his vacation with 3 of Misti's relatives from Kalispell (Chuch & Greg Pisk and Matt Lake). Dyke got to fish on the Kenia River for King Salmon and Sakeye Salmon, and fished in the ocean for halibut. Dyke had an excellent time and had the 60 pound king that he caught mounted. It has arrived and looks great hanging on the wall as you walk in the door to our home. He also managed to catch a 100 pound halibut and to limit out almost everyday on reds (sakeye). They stayed in cabins right on the river and everything was easily accessible. Dyke also managed to bring home with him about 180 pounds of fresh fish to eat. While we were at home in the week of over 100 degree temps, Dyke was enjoying the cool Alaskan weather.
