| 1) How do I get a Library Card? |
To register for a library card, you must come to the library and fill out a card. Patrons under the age of 14 must have a parent sign the card.

| 2) Can I get a Library Card if I don't live in Fallon County? |
Yes, but in addition to the applicant's name, address and telephone number; he or she must provide the verifiable name, address and telephone number of his or her employer.

| 4) How many Items can I check out? |
There is no limit as long as the items are returned on time. If you have several overdue items, your checkouts may be limited.

| 5) Can I renew materials over the phone? |
Yes, items may be renewed over the phone as long as there are no reserves.

| 6) Does the Library have a fax service? |
Yes, the Library provides fax services. Faxes may be sent or received for a fee: Faxes may be sent for $1.00 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page. Faxes may be received for $0.50 per page.

| 7) Does the Library have a copy machine? |
Yes, the Library provides photocopy services. Copies are $0.10 per page for black and white. Color copies charges are pro-rated.

| 8) How much are fines? |
The Library does not charge overdue fines on items that it owns. Interlibrary loan overdue items are charged $1.00 per day.

| 9) How long can I keep books out? |
Most books are loaned for a period of 28 days. Bestsellers may only be checked out for two weeks.

| 10) How long can I keep videos out? |
Videos are loaned for seven days at a time and may be renewed.
|
| 11) Can I return books after hours? |
Yes, there is a book drop just outside the front door.

| 12) Can I check out magazines and newspapers? |
Magazines may be checked out, except for the most recent copy. the most recent copy is restricted to in-library usage only. Newspapers may not be checked out.

| 13) What happens if I lose a book? |
If you lose a book, you will be charged the replacement cost of the book. If you find the book and return it in good condition within six months, your money will be refunded.

| 14) Does the Library accept donations? |
Yes. the Library appreciates donations of books, audio tapes, videos, etc... Please bring your donations to our desk during regular business hours. Once items are donated, they become the sole property of Fallon County Library. You may obtain a receipt for donated books for use for taxes.

| 15) Does the Library have computers for public use? |
Yes, there are computers for patrons and visitors to use to access the Internet, create a word or spreadsheet document, create and print a sign or banner.

| 16) Can the Library be used for public meetings? |
| Yes, the Library basement is available for use. Contact the Library during regular hours to reserve the basement for your meeting. |
