The Vanishing Cowboy

A. Ray began writing his autobiography in 1956 and it is a mere collection of memories important enough for him to share and he named it "The Vanishing Cowboy". Documents reflecting the original pages will be added soon to experience the essence of spending an afternoon with Ray. The following chapters on this website were revised for easier reading and it is hoped you can still hear his voice.

In his later years, A. Ray's handwriting became harder to read but he was determined to leave this world with an accomplishment to be handed down to future generations. He spent the majority of his last four months focusing on this mission, handwriting copies of basic ancestry for each of his children. This website is meant as an extension of his efforts, using more modern technology to accomplish his goal and reaching more of his relatives than he dreamed. Neither penmanship nor spelling were A. Ray's strong points and any inconsistencies or information misinterpreted throughout this web site are regretted.

Keep checking for PDF's of A. Ray's original documents!
