HANDBOOK

CLUB RULES

1. Clean wrestling shoes or sport shoes are required for practice and tournaments.  Shoes do not have to be new, but must not be worn outdoors.
2. Wrestling clothes may include sweats, T-shirt and trunks for practice, red/blue singlet for tournaments and meets.
3. Wrestlers will not be allowed on the mat in stocking feet or street clothes.
4. Children not wrestling will NOT be allowed at practice or at the practice facility, unless there is an adult supervisor with them.  We will call you to come and get your children.
5. Parents are allowed at practice if they wish, but please let the coaches do their job.
6. No gum, candy, or beverages (except water bottles) will be allowed at practice.
7. All wrestlers are subject to disciplinary action by the coaches if necessary.
8. All wrestlers and fans are expected to be on their best behavior and show good sportsmanship.
9. Wrestlers should not arrive at practice any sooner than 15 minutes before practice.
10. Parents are required to attend all parents meetings and work the tables at all tournaments as well as work the Glendive tournament.
11. Each wrestler must sell or purchase at least 2 books or raffle tickets.
12. An adult must physically come into the practice facility when picking up a wrestler from the            FIRST PRACTICE.
13. If the above rules are not followed the wrestler will not be eligible for ATHLETIC AID, which is any extra awards, any compensation, fees, or help of any kind to attend special tournaments or events.  In order to be eligible for athletic aid, the wrestler must be an active member of the club.

GLENDIVE MAT DEVILS CLUB BY-LAWS

We hereby agree to the following by-laws and dedicate our efforts to provide activities of sport within the areas of wrestling, and to include a physical fitness activity.

1.  ELIGIBILITY

All children who are 5 and older (before Jan 1.) with written consent of their parents and registration paid, are eligible to participate during the season.  All wrestlers must have a parent release form signed by at least one parent or guardian at the time of registration.

2.  COACH LAWS

All coaches are required to purchase AAU cards prior to the first practice or at the same wrestlers registration.  NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON THE MAT WITHOUT AN AAU CARD.

3. FEES

Fees will be charged to cover the registration fee to attend scheduled invitational tournaments for the year and the wrestlers AAU card.

4. DISCIPLINE

Discipline is the responsibility of the coaching staff and officers.  Any wrestlers causing trouble or breaking the rules may be dismissed form the club without their fees being reimbursed.

5. TRAINING

Parents are asked to help as much as possible with the training of the wrestlers.  Parents interfering with the responsibilities of the coaches or tournament officials will be given their childs AAU card and asked to wrestle on their own, outside the Glendive Mat Devils wrestling club.

6. EQUIPMENT

The wrestler and his parent or guardian are responsible for all wrestler’s personal equipment.  Mats are furnished by the club.  Singlets are available from the club for a fee and refundable deposit.

7. LAWS

We will abide by the National and State safety laws.

8. TRANSPORTATION

Wrestlers and their parents or guardians are responsible for their own transportation. 

Duties of Officers and Board Members

            PRESIDENT:

• 3 year term.
• Conduct business matters of the club.
• Presides over the meetings.
• Sees to club and tournament sanctions with the Secretary.
• Attends AAU Divisional and State organization meetings.
• Has authority to call a board meeting if necessary.
• Order awards for picnic and State qualifiers.

      VICE PRESIDENT:

• 2 year term.
• Fills in all areas when the President is not available.
• Works with the other officers as needed.
• Calls Board members about meetings.

SECRETARY:

• 3 year term.
• Keep records of club meetings and business.
• Have available a report of members with parents/guardians names, address, and phone numbers.
• Handle and report all club correspondence.
• Send sanctions to state.
• Keep parent permission records, copy of birth certificates, AAU cards, and forms for all tournament.
• Has authority to sign checks.

           TREASURER:

§  2 year term.

§  Keep up to date financial records.

§  Pay bills,

§  Gives the treasurers report.

§  Will be on hand at club functions to handle the money or must delegate someone else.

§  Will help Secretary when needed.

§  Has authority to sign checks.

                 HEAD COACH:

§  Run practices.

§  Pick up awards after tournaments.

§  Turn in results to media.

§  Attends AAU Divisional and State organization meetings.

§  Handles discipline when necessary, and reports to Board any excessive problems.

   BOARD MEMBERS:

§  2 year term.

§  Attend monthly board meetings.

§  Chair and form committees.

Committees will be formed for the following:

§  Team pictures.

§  Ordering sweats.

§  Making reservations for out of town tournaments.

§  Planning the annual team picnic.

§  Fundraising.

§  Ordering special awards.

GLENDIVE MAT DEVILS CLUB CHARTER

We, the members of the Glendive Wreslting Charter, hereby, agree to abide by the following laws, and by-laws drawn up the Board of Directors.  We are a non-profit organization.

ARTICLE I:  GOVERNMENT

The government of AAU shall be vested by the Board of Directors and the current officers, consisting of a President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, 2 tournament directors, Head coach, and 7 board members.  Monthly meetings will be held at the discretion of the officers.

ARTICLE II:  OFFICERS

The Board of Directors will be elected at the annual season opening pot luck.  Officers will be selected from the Board of Directors.

ARTICLE III:  DUES

Dues will be subject to club approval and must be paid upon registration.  These dues will cover the wrestlers AAU card, AAU sanction fee, and tournament fees.  Coaches must purchase an AAU card and pay admission at tournaments.

ARTICLE IV:  PROJECTS

Fundraising projects will be discussed during each season.

Volunteers run the Glendive Mat Devil Wrestling Club.  Everyone donates their time for the kids and love of the sport of wrestling.  Any help you can offer will be appreciated.  Remember, it is your club too.  Contact any of the following people to offer your help, join a committee, or to answer any questions you may have.
