Mid-Rivers emailGUARD Spam/Antivirus Filter FAQ
How does the Mid-Rivers emailGUARD Spam/Antivirus Filter protect me?
The Mid-Rivers emailGUARD Spam/Antivirus Filter protects your e-mail account from several types of threats, including virus, phishing, and spam messages. Messages sent to your e-mail address are automatically scanned by the system and if necessary, are quarantined for your review. This helps protect you from potential virus/spyware infection as well as helps block phishing attempts.
The Mid-Rivers emailGUARD Spam/Antivirus filter provides customers with a robust interface called the Personal Dashboard. Using this tool, customers can check quarantined messages and choose to either permanently delete them or deliver them to the Inbox. Customers can also adjust settings and policies used by the filtering service to create a more personalized experience. Click here to access the Personal Dashboard.
While most of the quarantine settings are configurable on a per-user basis, Mid-Rivers does not allow customers to disable protection from virus-infected messages. It is also important to note that this tool provides protection against e-mail borne threats only.

By default, the Personal Dashboard only displays messages received over the previous 24 hours. To expand this time frame, click on the Time Range button. A sliding bar will appear that will allow you to adjust the time frame as far back as the previous 35 days. Any messages received prior to the previous 35 days are automatically discarded.

Messages will remain in the Personal Dashboard Quarantine until they are automatically aged out of the system. This is done to facilitate the trouble shooting process in the rare event that a legitimate message is quarantined in the system. This process is currently set to occur after a message has been quarantined for 35 days.
Once Mid-Rivers changes to the Red Condor Filter service, Postini will no longer filter or quarantine emails. However, all quarantined emails remaining in Postini will be available until each expires.
As these quarantined emails age, they will automatically expire after 14 days.
