Changing your Internet Password

It is a good idea to change your password periodically. When you change your password, it will be automatically encrypted and cannot be retrieved. Remember what you type -- we cannot look up your password if you change it.

Follow these steps to change your password if you are using Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, or XP:

  1. Connect to the Internet.
  2. Click on START, RUN, and type telnet services.midrivers.com into the box and click OK.
  3. Type your username (the part of your e-mail address before the @ sign) at the login: prompt and press <Enter>.
  4. Type your current password at the password: prompt and press <Enter>.
  5. Enter the number of the corresponding menu option.
  6. Enter your current password at the Current password: prompt and press <Enter>.
  7. Enter your new password at the New password: prompt and press <Enter>. (The password will not be displayed on the screen.)
  8. Enter your new password again at the New password (again): prompt and press <Enter>.
  9. Type Q and press <Enter> to disconnect the telnet session. You can now close the telnet application if it has not already ended. Your new password should now be active.
