Call Waiting FAQ's (frequently asked questions)

Q. Can I turn call waiting on and off?

A. Yes. If you dial *70 before placing a call, the call waiting will be turned off. Call waiting automatically resets when you hang up.

Q. When I connect to the internet, can I cancel call waiting?

A. Yes.

If your computer is Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT, double click My Computer, double click Control Panel, double click Modems, and single click Dialing Properties. In the Dialing Properties screen, select "Disable Call Waiting," and type *70, in the box. Click OK.

If your computer is Windows 2000 or Windows XP, double click My Computer, double click Control Panel, and double click "Phone and Modem Options." In the white box, highlight the location, and click on the Edit button. Place a checkmark in the "To disable call waiting, dial" box. Type *70, in the box. Click Apply, and click OK. Then, click Apply, and click OK again to close out the next window. This should disable call waiting when you are on the internet.
