Tip #1
In addition to properly configuring Postini filter settings for Message Center:
NEVER, EVER buy anything from a Spam message. It only encourages more Spam.
NEVER, EVER reply to a Spam message. Just DELETE IT...Resist the temptation to click the link that says "if you want to unsubscribe, click here." All that does is alert the Spammer that he has touched a valid e-mail address, and not only will he continue to Spam that account, he'll probably sell that address to other Spammers as well.
Report Spam to our IS department by forwarding the message as an attachment to: spam@postini.com To be of any real help, you'll need to include the ENTIRE HEADER of the message in question.
Join and support consumer groups such as CAUCE (Citizens Against Unsolicited Commercial E-mail): http://www.cauce.org The more members they have, the more their ideas and voices will be heard on Capitol Hill.
Pester your representatives in Washington to support anti-Spam legislation and initiatives.
Tip #2
Approving Senders
When approving senders that emailGUARD has blocked in the "Message Center," place a checkmark in the box to the left of the email address you wish to approve.
Click on "Deliver."
At the next window, place a checkmark in the box to the left of the email address you wish to approve.
Click "Continue." There is an option to "Click here if one or more of these addresses are from an email mailing list." If you click on the word "here," you will move to an "Approved Senders and/or Mailing Lists" window.
Click "Continue."
If you have already placed a checkmark in the box to the left of your email address and clicked "Continue," please contact Mid-Rivers' Internet Department at (800) 452-2288. The Internet Department can remove your email address from an "Approved Recipients" list that will prevent emailGUARD from working correctly.
