This web page is still under construction: This page is being developed to showcase the books and crafts of Mary Jean Golden and friends. Mary Jean has three small books for sale: 1879 Metis Trek to the Judith Basin: This book names and gives the ages of over 300 people who came on Red River Carts into the Lewistown, Montana area. This is designed as a research book for people trying to find ancestors and learn more about them. It also tells who the people traveled with. Policepersons: This book is intended for older children from about grade 5 up. On a challenge from a friend, Mary Jean wrote a science fiction book. It is appropriate for children because no one cusses and no one gets killed. It does have a longhorn steer, a crab creature who wants to ride night herd on a cattle drive and a bit of ecology. Because the scientist is based on a real person, I suppose you could call it "agricultural research on someone else's planet." Nailing Down Montana This is a collection of short prose and poetry. Many of the pieces were presented at the annual Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Mary Jean printed a similar collection a number of years ago also called, Nailing Down Montana but only two of the original pieces appear in this book.
